Brainstorming
Once you have defined your purpose and audience, you can start gathering information and ideas to formulate a name. A good way to start is by brainstorming. Find as many words and phrases you can that you think are associated with your company. Things the company will make. Research you are conducting and applications of that research. A thesaurus is a great resource for finding synonyms, alternate words that mean the same thing. A dictionary can also help you find descriptive words and phrases as well as root words in Greek or Latin. Don’t forget about the different forms of a word and prefixes and suffixes (Yudkin).

Gather this list you create and organize it. Find relationships between words and phrases. Put words together in meaningful categories. Words that mean the same. Phrases that describe one characteristic. Similar words that begin or end the same.
