As mentioned earlier, the colors observed from a monitor are different than those seen on paper. When we look at a monitor the colors we see are based on the additive system because of the light emitted by the monitor. When we look at a picture the colors we see are based on the subtractive system because it is dependant on the colors reflected from the paper. Again, in the additive system intensities of the red, green and blue colors of an image are combined to give us the correct image colors. In print, cyan, magenta, yellow and black are combined to make the appropriate color(1) (Color Printing).
