There are millions of colors that are perceivable by the human eye. Because many of these colors are emitted by light, their brightness can not be reproduced on paper. There are also certain colors that can not be reproduced on a monitor(1). These ranges of color are known as gamuts (Evening). You must keep this in mind when designing on a computer because the colors you see on the monitor will not look the same on paper. Therefore it is important to know what your purpose is when designing anything on a computer. The programs you might use for your design can be set to allow only colors that can be printed(2).
