Direction
Text may run from left to right but that is not the only direction it follows. It also runs up and down as a column of text or, if re-directed, a headline or title can add a lot of impact to a page. You can very effectively lead a viewers attention by minimizing the number of words per line along a column causing its downward direction to be emphasized(1).
Directing text along a slant is not always a good choice(2). This can most often look like it was printed crooked but if done carefully it can add that interest a design might need. Be sure that you have a specific reason and make it clear and obvious (Williams).
