Properties
Like many things, type has its own specific terminology to describe its properties or characteristics. Points is used to describe the type size. Leading refers to the distance between lines of text(1), also described in points. Kerning is the distance between individual letters(2) and tracking(3) is the distance between letters in entire words. The way lines of text are set is described as left aligned(4), center aligned(5), right aligned(6) or justified(7). Text is usually left aligned (Mundi).
