Gestalt
The theory of gestalt is concerned with the visual perception and the psychology of art. How the parts of a composition relate to each other and as a whole. Gestalt includes the concepts of closure, continuance, proximity, similarity and alignment. These concepts help make unity and variety possible within a design (Saw).

Closure
In closure, our minds fill in the gaps between the pieces of limited information we are provided. Our imagination quickly begins to complete an image based on visual clues. The end result is a better understanding of what we are looking at.
