One method of creating an illusion of depth or space, is with linear perspective. There are three similar techniques used to achieve this; one, two and three point perspective. In one point perspective all the lines moving away from you seem to converge on a single point in the distance called the vanishing point. The lines of an object that are horizontal or vertical will not be affected (Saw).
